Communication Policy/Problem Resolution

We believe that open communication and supportive relationships between home and school are imperative for the full development of the child. However, we are all human, and things don’t always go over perfectly to everyone’s satisfaction. Occasionally, issues may arise, such as misunderstandings or conflicts between parents and the school. When a parent has a question, concern, or grievance; they should make an effort to bring their issue to the appropriate person as outlined below:

Whom to contact:

For student & classroom issues:
First: Your child’s Guide – Ms Dani
Second: Head Guide, Ms Natalie

For general school operations & policy issues, questions about Montessori pedagogy, finances & billing, health & health policies, admissions, diversity, equity & inclusion:

Head Guide, Ms. Natalie

Staff, parents & students at Montessori Moments are all expected to strive for high standards of etiquette and behavior. Commitments should be honored, criticism should be constructive, and “thank yous” should be frequent!

Accounting

Monthly invoices and receipts will be sent on the first of each month to the e-mail you provided us with. Your tuition fees are to be paid in the first week of the month. If tuition fees are not paid within the timeframe outlined, your child’s enrollment will be terminated, and the contract will be null and void.

Attendance Policy

Daily attendance is vital for your child’s development. If a student must be away for any length of time for reasons other than illness, parents should let the Guide know in advance to discuss the situation.

Health Policy

Immunizations are not required.

Illness: For the protection of all students, the Head Guide reserves the right to send a child home whose health (according to the Montana State Health Guidelines) poses a threat to other students and staff. Any ill child should be kept at home. Please call your child’s Guide and excuse your child for the day if they will be absent.

Child Abuse & Neglect Policy

Montana law requires all individuals who work with children to be mandated reporters. If we suspect child abuse or neglect, Child Protective Services will be notified.

Employee Screening

All employees are subject to vulnerable criminal background checks. These are done on an annual basis.

Visitors & Guests

We encourage visits to the school from parents, outside teachers, prospective families, and the larger community. Please call the school to make arrangements ahead of time.
Your child’s Guide will often ask the community to visit for special educational purposes.

Social Media Policy

Montessori Moments will publicly post photos, display art & post events using the newspaper, Facebook, newsletters, and art shows unless specified differently from parental request.
